Blog Introductions

Hello Class,
I have begun to use this blog site for three other classes and it appears to be working out very well. It is a continuation of class and a way to express your thoughts while in the comforts of your own home. Blogs will mostly be counted as 10 points and be used like participation grades...if you fail to participate in this blog it WILL hurt your grade as participation is expected from all students in this class. I can post assignments here as well as send reminders of test/quizes or community service. What I will likely use this for however is more straight forward response to topics which I post.

Please use this opportunity to earn some easy points for Quarter 2. Take a minute and tell the class something about yourself and why you decided to take this elective. Comment if you have completed any community service (other than cleaning the courtyard) or if you have attended the town meeting.

When you sign up for the blog, please put first and last name on "display" so I can easily tell who you are...

Thanks,
Mr. Kendall

ps...check out these for the Maori Haka dance which I explained in class monday.

Semester 2 Civics Introductions

I'm assuming you are home looking at the blog so good afternoon or evening to you...

I will be using this blog to create 10 to 20 point assignments periodicly. You need to create an account then it will allow you to reply to my postings. Move the cursor over the different color print then click on title/heading to be able to post.

For this blog I'm simply looking to make sure you are all on.
Please explain a little about yourself, why you took this class and if you have any experience with community service to this point.
You can post a picture of yourself if you'd like as well...see you next period

CT. Legislative Session Summary

1st log onto the http://www.ctn.state.ct.us/ondemand.asp website. Click on the left link of "Archived" videos and pick a video to watch. These are very long so don't worry about picking based on time, you won't be viewing the whole thing anyhow.

Watch enough of the proposed bill to summarize what it was, who proposed it and exlain the outcome if any.

Post your findings by monday 2:20...

Thanks,

Mr. K

Ideologies Unit Test

Hopefully you all have spent a few minutes each night reviewing notes, making flashcards or trying to have all these concepts sink in. We'll be testing this week most likely on Wednesday with a review of all 10 Ideologies Monday. Enjoy what's left of the weekend...

How much time you put into your studies largely determines if your results will make you as happy as this ice cream made me :)

Globalism Good or Bad?

Hi Period 3,
Please post your response to Globalism, is it helping or hurting Lesser Developed Nations? You have two articles plus notes and all class discussions. You must cite at least 2-3 examples in your write up. Anything taken directly from the text must be cited in quotes.

This blog is due Friday 10-16
